RV awnings are typically 8' by 12' to 20'. A person can't reach further than about 4' in from the edge. If RVing is still popular, a few thousand years from now evolution may have bestowed RVers with 8' arms. Until that time cleaning and treating awnings can be a problem. Here's the easy way:
Cleaning:
- Start with awning fully retracted.
- Pull out 3 feet of awning and, using a step-ladder, clean along entire awning length.
- Pull down another 3 feet of awning and repeat.
- Continue until entire awning is cleaned.
- Always allow an awning to dry thoroughly before retracting.
Treating:
- Start with awning fully retracted.
- Pull out 3 feet of awning and, using a step-ladder, treat entire awning length with one light coat.
- Pull down another 3 feet of awning and repeat.
- Continue until entire awning is treated
